City of Orofino Appeals Board
The City of Orofino is accepting applications for vacancies on the City of Orofino Appeals Board.
The Appeals Board is a public advisory body established by City ordinance under the authority of Idaho Code Title 67, Chapter 65 (Local Land Use Planning Act). The Board is made up of volunteers who will meet as needed.
The purpose of the Appeals Board is to hear and decide appeals of certain administrative or quasi-judicial decisions made under the City’s ordinances and adopted codes, consistent with applicable Idaho state statutes. The Appeals Board provides an internal review process prior to any judicial appeal allowed under Idaho law and helps ensure due process, fairness, and consistency in City decision-making.
Appeals Board members do not advocate for applicants or staff. Their role is to objectively apply the City’s adopted regulations, applicable state law, and any other relevant jurisdictional requirements to the facts presented, and to determine whether the original decision was made correctly and fairly.
Applications may be picked up at City Hall or found on the City of Orofino website. Please return completed applications to the Building Official / Planning and Zoning Administrator, Joni Spencer.
